April 4 Howmet Playhouse, Whitehall, MI @ 7:30
First Fridays in April is all about Michigan women as we welcome Stella! to the Playhouse stage, along with opening act Elaina Burress and Friends. All powerhouse female musicians, this will be a night of “sinfully good” music.
Stella! is a four-piece, all-women, American roots band from southeast Michigan and has been referred to as a singer-songwriter super group with three-part vocal harmonies and four songwriter voices.
Elaina first appeared on the Playhouse stage with national recording artist Meg Hutchiinson in 2012, and has since moved into a blossoming songwriting and music career as a student at Interlochen Arts Academy. A contemporary acoustic artist reminiscent of Ingrid Michaelson and Cat Powers, Elaina accompanies herself with her guitar or yellow uke and toured last summer as a part of Academy Four, a powerhouse group of her classmates from Interlochen. She released her first album, Paper Love in 2013. Elaina will be joined by some musician friends as the opening act to Stella!.
